I've seen two
concerts at the Auditorium, Radiohead and Tom Waits. The
acoustics? Perfect as advertised. Radiohead's layered sound
and musical prowess really came through. And Tom Waits' voice?
Indescribable. You'd have to have heard it; it's like being
haunted by 50 carny ghosts. The problem here is, the seats
are so steep, if you don't get a close seat, your visuals of
the stage can be affected. I was too far out for Radiohead and
right on the edge of OK for Waits (but I'd pay $100 just to
hear him talk to me through a tin-can telephone). So yes, see
a show, a play, or whatever at the Auditorium, but try your
hardest to get good seats.
